These tweaks only work on jailbroken iPhone 4 and 3GS.

• From your Cydia install a free application called Fake Operator. This will let you spoof your operator name in statusbar without having to edit plists. Works on iPhone, iPad.

This next one will change your signal strength bars with 2 digits. It’s a pretty cool trick.

• From your iPhone Keypad dial the following

 and Call

1. A Field Test screen will appear. If you look on the top where the bars were, you will see the bars being replaced with numbers. This number is your reception strength measured in decibels. The closer to 0dB the stronger your signal.

2. Press and hold Power button until the power slider appear. Don’t power off.

3. Press and hold the Home button until the field test disappears. The digits will remain.

 

To change back to the signal bars, just follow these two steps:

1. dial *3001#12345#* to enter field test mood.

2. Press the signal strength at the top left of screen to toggle between numbers and bars. Then press the Home button to exit Field Test mode.
