These are some more random tricks, tips and other stuff, related to Mac OS X Lion.
-Java not working
Java is disabled by default on Lion.
To enable it, go to Applications > Utilities and open the Java Preferences,app
Make sure the top checkbox is ticked, but if Java is not installed, you’ll be asked to do so first.
-How to find a document from the Finder
If you cannot remember how you’ve named a specific document, but you remember it was a PDF or a DOC, you can narrow down your search with a new Finder tool.
Into the Finder search bar type:
kind: pdf or kind: doc and select the relevant type of document from the drop-down menu
-Sign PDF in Preview
It will happen that you have to sign a PDF document but you don’t have a scanner.
Go to Preview > Preferences > Signatures
Hold your signature, on a piece of paper, in front of the built-in camera and save it.
When you need to sign a PDF, select the Signatures option from the Annotations toolbar
-Install new voices
There’s a variety of voices for the speech synthesizer that can be easily downloaded:
Open System Preferences > Speech > Text to Speech
Select System Voice: menu and select Customize
Play and select the one you want, check the box to the left and click OK
