On Saturday we reported about Samsung having to remove the newly introduced tablet Galaxy Tab 7.7-inch and all related promotional material, from their booth at the IFA consumer-electronic show in Berlin, Germany. Read more.
Today we have some more news regarding the episode.
We suspected that Apple may have been behind the disappearance of the small tablet.
The Dusseldorf court granted Apple, on September 2nd, its request to ban sales and marketing of the product.
“Samsung respects the court’s decision,” a Samsung’s spokesman said, adding that the company believes it “severely limits consumer choice in Germany.” Samsung will pursue all available options, including legal action, to defend its intellectual property rights, he said.
Samsung and Apple are currently on short terms and involved in several legal disputes around the world after the California-based company accused the South-Korea electronic giant of “slavishly” copying its iPhone and iPad.
On August 25th a European court ordered Samsung to halt sales of its smartphone in Europe and in Australia the Korean company is also not allowed of selling their new Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.
