Appalicious for the Mac, a database front-end, helps search, sort, and filter item listings in the Mac App Store. It’s especially handy at locating free apps and apps marked down on sale. It has some additional features like wish lists, price and version histories, and its ability to save your searches and sort combinations make it easy to pinpoint the app you’re searching for.
When you locate the app you want to buy, one click will take you to the Mac App Store page where you can purchase your app and download it. There is a price for all the nice features included in Appalicious — there’s an annual $12.95 fee, but you get it with a 7-day trial before having to make your decision whether you want to keep the service or not, and you don’t need to provide credit card information for the trial, just your email address. Additionally, you can use a referral code to gain 1 free month for each person who registers for a trial subscription with the service. Lifehacker can hook you up if you’re interested.
If you’re one of those who doesn’t make Mac App Store purchases very often, then Appalicious probably isn’t for you, but if you’re a frequent buyer or an inveterate bargain hunter, then you’ll quickly recoup the $12.95 annual subscription fee. Below is a short introductory demo for Appalicious.
