Apple Store robberies are not limited to the US: on Monday the London’s Covent Garden store was hit by 7 mopeds’ riders who raided the Apple store.
According to a report the thieves smashed a window around 1am on Monday, entered the store wearing helmets and grabbed whatever they could.
Called by someone that is camping outside the Apple Store patiently waiting for the iPhone 5 (not the iPhone4S), the police was on the scene minutes after the moped riders left the Apple Store. After pursuing and losing one moped, the police found an abandoned moped and saw two people running inside a building.
The two (age 16 and 21) were arrested with a bag full of Apple products and a currently in custody at a north London police station.
Police do not yet know the combined value of the merchandise stolen from the store but believe it could run into thousands of pounds.
