Samsung is fighting back Apple on another territory, after last week’s Dutch court decision to dismiss the Samsung claim for 3G patent infringement by Apple.
The Bloomberg reported on Monday that the Korean firm sued Apple in Japan and Australia to stop sales of the iPhone 4S, as well as seeking an injunction to halt sales of the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 in Japan because the products are infringing Samsung’s patents related with wireless communication and user-interface technologies.
“Apple has continued to violate our patent rights and free ride on our technology,” Samsung said in the statement. “We will no longer stand idly by and will steadfastly protect our intellectual property.”
The cat-fight between the two has been going on since April, when Apple sued Samsung for ‘slavishly’ copying the iPhone and the iPad with its Galaxy line.
Earlier last week, ahead of iPhone 4S launch, Samsung opened a pop-up shop in Sydney right next to the Apple Store and was offering the flagship Galaxy S II for $2 with no contract to the first 10 customers upon shop’s opening each day.
