Earlier this year Apple introduced the popular GarageBand for iPad and as of today the Cupertino firm has extended the application’s compatibility to iPhone and iPod touch.

Apple announced the update via a press release on its own website. For those who are new to GarageBand, the stunning app allows users to create music and podcast using an extraordinarily easy-to-use interface and a wide range of musical instruments that will turn your device into a powerful recording studio.

Personally I think that GarageBand on the iPad is great and I really dig it but on the smaller screen I’m finding it a bit squashed up…but hey that’s just my impression.

The app works flawlessly and it’s compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation running on iOS 4.3 or later.
