If you have an iPhone 4S you’ll be happy to know that Apple has indeed resolved the battery drainage issue with the new iOS 5.0.1 that the firm pushed yesterday to developers.

From initial testing it seems that the battery lasts at least 40% longer.

Other Apple devices running iOS 5 have also been affected by the battery’s short life but it appears that the newly launched iPhone 4S was the main victim.

The iOS 5.0.1 is still a beta version, meaning that for the final stable release the improvements could even be greater.
