The court case involving Apple and HTC over the alleged infringement by the Cupertino company of some S3 Graphic’s patent rights, was closed by the US International Trade Commission in Apple’s favor.
The Taiwan-based HTC who recently spent $300 million buying S3 Graphics Co., was seeking an import ban for some of Apple’s computers, iPhone and iPad.
The ITC rejected HTC’s request but gave no reasons for its ruling.
HTC, who was also hoping to score a licensing deal with Apple at the end of the dispute, said that they will challenge the ruling in an appeal court that specializes in patent law.
