Earlier this month a new jailbreaking tool entered the hacking scene. When Ac1dSn0w beta 1 was released few days ago, MuscleNerd warned the jailbreaking community that the new tool was using some Apple’s patented files and therefore was illegal to use.
An updated version has been released on Monday and the legal issues have now been resolved.
The beta 2 version of Ac1dSn0w, same as its predecessor, will jailbreak in tethered mode iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad (1st generation) and iPod touch (4th generation) running on iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1
Ac1dSn0w is currently available only for Mac users and it can be downloaded from here.
Please follow the instructions posted here to jailbreak your device in tethered mode.
