The Taiwan-based publication DigiTimes reports on Wednesday that Apple may be introducing an ultra high-resolution MacBook Pro in the second quarter of 2012!!

According to the publication some of Apple’s supply chain partners are talking of a 2880×1800 pixels resolution which is double of what we have now.

Apple is likely to launch its new MacBook Pro lineup with a display resolution of 2880 by 1800 in the second quarter of 2012, setting a new round of competition for panel specifications in the notebook industry, according to sources in the upstream supply chain.

This means that your MacBook Pro will have four times the number of pixels it has now, giving your screen a resolution that until a couple of years ago we didn’t think it would have been achievable.mbp02

If you are on the market for a MacBook Pro, maybe you want to hold on to your old computer a little longer because not only the MacBook Pro display will gain a Retina-like resolution, but Apple may redesign entirely the new Pro line with a MacBook Air-like design.
