pod2g, the French jailbreaker that found a way to successfully jailbreak in untethered mode iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod and iPad, has handed over his codes to the Chronic Dev team that will carry out the final tests and prepare, I assume redsn0w, for public release asap.
While the Dev team will focus on releasing the untethered jailbreak tool, pod2g will focus on finding an exploit for Apple’s proprietary A5 chip that is found on the iPhone 4S and on the iPad 2.
Although there are no official comments coming from the Chronic Dev team about a release date, it shouldn’t take to long to pack redsn0w with pod2g’s codes…and we might still see it happening in 2011.
As usual stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted with the latest news.
