Siri for iPad? Yes…apparently is on its way!
On Monday Apple released the third beta version of iOS 5.1 to developers for the usual testing before its release, and the guys from 9to5Mac have found an interesting piece of information inside the firmware.
In the Keyboard section of the Settings app, where it says ‘About Dictation and Privacy’, a document reveals legal information relating to Siri Dictation, that as you certainly know is currently legally available only on iPhone 4S.
This goes to suggest that the very discussed personal digital assistant will probably be available with the new iPad 3 that should be released during the course of 1st quarter 2012.
Having said that, we shouldn’t exclude that possibility of seeing Siri working on iPad 2 with the, hopefully soon, release of iOS 5.1.
Since both the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 are using the same A5 processor, it should be trivial to make the digital assistant work on the iPad 2.
We shall find out soon what Apple’s plans are…and as usual we’ll keep you posted as we find out more.
