Target has confirmed that they’ll introduce 25 Apple mini-shops within its stores this year.
The company confirmed that they’ll be testing this new concept of a store-within-a-store in various locations around the country.
This new concept will not only be limited to Apple’s products: Target will be partnering with several specialty stores, hoping to attract more shoppers to its locations.
The new stores will open on May 6 and the test-run will be 6 weeks long. Stores involved in the program — called The Shops at Target — include the Candy Store, Polka Dog Bakery and home goods retailer Privet House. However, Apple is not a part of the program.
“One of the reasons our guests love shopping at Target is our design partnerships. They create excitement and leave even the most loyal Target shoppers wondering what we’ll do next,” Brian Robinson, Target’s director of fashion and design partnerships, said in a statement. “With The Shops at Target, we’re building on that sense of discovery by offering our guests a chance to experience one-of-a-kind specialty stores and boutiques through collections that have been specifically tailored to their wants and needs.”
Target is already carrying a limited range of Apple products, but this store-within-a-store concept will be a further extension of that.
