If you’ve recently jailbroken your iPhone 4S, there’s a tweak that you may not know about and you should check out.
Updated on Thursday, RecognizeMe the first ever Facial Recognition biometric security for iOS devices.
Instead of entering you usual passcode, RecognizeMe will scan your face and unlock the device only if it recognizes you. But if you’ve had a rough night and the iPhone won’t recognize you, you’ll always be able to unlock your device using a passcode.
The tweak is iOS 5 compatible and in order to work the it uses the front-facing camera on your device, therefore if your device doesn’t have Facetime, you cannot use this tweak.
Here’s the changelog for this last version 1.0:
- iOS 5 CoreImage Face Detection added to vastly improve detection time, which improves overall Recognition and speed!!
- New Animations to see how RecognizeMe see’s your face! (Even on iOS 4 where CoreImage Face Detection is not available!)
- Speed Improvements
- Tweaks to recognition algorithm better matching features
- Improved clarity of incoming camera stream across all devices
- Added AutoStart on unlock feature (starts RecognizeMe upon swipe-to-unlock)
- All artwork updated
Available from the BigBoss repo, RecognizeMe will cost you $2.99. Launch Cydia, hit the search button and proceed to install from there.
