Finally it’s the week-end again, this is when I normally have more time to play with my gadgets, and when I have time to check out new tweaks for my jailbroken iPhone and iPad.
If you have an Apple device which is not the latest iPhone 4S, and if you want to install Apple’s voice-based personal assistant Siri on your handset, it can be legally done thanks to a new tweak called Sara. I know that there are a lot of Siri alternatives out there right now, but Sara seems to be the better working one for any Apple device, yes even iPhone 3G, iPod 2G and iPhone 3GS, iPod 3G, iPhone 4, iPod 4G and iPad (1G and 2G).
To install Sara on your device you have to jailbreak it first, and you can use Absinthe to jailbreak iPad 2, or redsn0w for other devices.
- Once jailbroken launch Cydia from your device and tap on Manage > Sources
- Tap Edit on the top right and Add from the top left.
- Add this repo http://isoftjsc.com and respiring your device
- In Cydia again tap on Search and enter Sara.
- Tap on Install on the top right and let it do its things.
That’s it! You are ready to use Siri now! Ops I meant Sara.
