Over the past few weeks hackers/developers have released a few tweaks for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod touch, that allow users to port ‘Siri’ to their devices, but you have to go through a proxy server that handles your requests.
A couple of new tweaks recently introduced in the Cydia store, will allow you to install Siri on your jailbroken device, without having to use a proxy.
What you need more than anything else, is a friend with a jailbroken iPhone 4S. This person will need to install AssistantConnect4S on the iPhone 4S and email you the authenticated certificate that you need for Siri to work on your non-4S device. If you don’t have this, it will not work.
How to install Siri on jailbroken Apple device
- If you don’t have it already, install the Spire tweak available through Cydia on the non-4S device.
- Search and install the tweak AssistantConnect4S (available via Cydia) on the iPhone 4S.
- Search and install AssistantConnect on the device where you want to install Siri.
- Launch AssistantConnect4S on the iPhone 4S. Use Siri as you would normally and ask anything you like.
- Close Siri and in AssistantConnect4S press the Email Siri Data button. Email it to the non-4S device
- On the non-4S device, check your mail and tap on the attachment that was emailed from the iPhone 4S. Open it in AssistantConnect. Go to the home screen and respiring the device. Launch Spire and enjoy Siri.
Done!
This way the non-4S device will use Siri natively and not relying on a proxy server to handle requests.
One more thing, those with the iPhone 4S shouldn’t send its Siri data to more than 5 other devices, to avoid being detected or blacklisted.
