One of the nicest features in OS X is the Dock, or at least that’s what I like the most.
There’s a free little app called Dock Designer that lets you customize the Dock and change it from 2D to 3D, and vice versa, together with a bunch of other options.
Once you’ve downloaded and installed the app, launch the Dock Designer and you’ll see three tabs at the top. The 3D and 2D Dock tabs, each have their own features that can be applied to the Dock style you prefer.
On top of the 2 or 3D view, the app allows you to add spaces between apps and folders, as well as letting you change the background to any image, texture, photo, or anything else you have stored on your Mac. To change it, click on Change and Apply, browse and select the image and you’re done. To remove entirely the background, click Yes under Transparent 3D Dock.
The app doesn’t offer insane customizations, but good enough to give your Dock a personal touch.
