Multi touch gestures are very cool especially on an iPad. The problem is that in order to have the multi gestures functions activated, your device had to be jailbroken.
There’s a way though, using Apple Xcode, to have the multi gestures working on iPad (one and two), on iPhone 4, 3GS and on iPod touch 3/4 G.
The method is not complicated at all but it requires to download Xcode which is a suite of tools, developed by Apple, for developing software for Mac OS X and iOS. The device needs to be NOT jailbroken. This will enable the four/five fingers gestures on your device. Using four fingers pinch to homescreen, swipe up to reveal multitasking bar and swipe left or right between apps.
Let’s begin:
Download Xcode
Launch Xcode, connect your iPad to your computer and from the Menu bar go to Window > Organizer. Your iPad (or other connected iDevice) should appear in the window under Devices
Click the big button that says Use for Development. If you are prompted to enter your iOS developer credentials click Cancel on the dialog box and ignore the error message. Your iOS firmware will be checked.
Launch the Settings app on your iPad, tap General, turn Multitasking Gestures On.
That’s it. Done.
