Credited for sparking a revolution in the gay community, Joel Simkhai, the creator of the homosexual iPhone application Grindr, has launched an heterosexual iOS app called Blendr.
The Grindr iOS application launched in 2009, is capable of connecting people that live in your vicinities and has already gathered 3 million users around the world.
Today Simkhai and his now 100-strong team, are introducing Blendr which is designed to be used by both straight and gay people who have similar interests and are nearby you.
“Gindr is so so basic, it’s essentially a list of the guys around you, very limited information about them, their photo and how far away they are from you and that’s about it. With Blendr we’ve added a lot to it,” said Simkhai.
In Blendr users can import their information as well as selecting specific interests from various categories like hobbies, entertainment, faith, gaming, music, language etc, to connect with like-minded people.
Blendr is available on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch for free and as a Facebook app only but Simkhai said an version was coming soon.
