I agree that the iPad has a great battery life, but there are a few things you can do to extend its usage. Sometimes you are on a long flight with no way or recharging, or you could be at college and forgot your recharger.
How to extend an iPad’s battery life
-Contrarily to commune believe, you should charge the iPad frequently. Do not wait for the battery to be totally dead. Do charge it sometimes when it’s at less than half of its capacity and sometimes when it’s flat.
-iPhone introduced multitasking with iOS 4 which means you have a lot of opened applications running in the background. When possible, double-click the Home button, tap and hold any of the icons at the bottom of the screen and close the unused apps by tapping on the red circle.
-Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you are not using it.
-Disable the Location Services under Settings
-Turn off Push and use Fetch instead.
Navigate to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars to disable Push
-Turn off Ping
While it is being used by Apple‘s music service, this is one of the culprits for poor battery life and has attracted quite a bit of controversy for it. If you don’t need it, turn it off right away.
Go to Settings > General > Restrictions
Enable Restrictions. Scroll down to Ping and turn it off.
-Disable the iPad EQ
If you are not listening to music an a regular base using the iPad, you should consider turning off the equalizer for the iPod app.
Navigate to Settings > iPod and tap on the EQ
-Lowering the screen’s brightness will save battery on a day-to-day use and will prolong the battery’s life.
