How to hide Newsstand app inside a folder in iOS 5

iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Apple introduced with iOS 5 the Newsstand, which is a great feature if you do subscribe to digital tabloids but for those who don’t use it, it’s an eyesore on the screen.iOS5_Newsstand_folder

When you try to put the Newsstand icon inside another folder, you’ve noticed that it just wouldn’t let you, as well as it wouldn’t allow you to uninstall it.

There’s a way to shove the Newsstand into a folder but it’s probably a bug. Note: when you hide the icon the way I’ll describe, you’ll no longer be able to use the app and loading it will cause the device to crash. Therefore do this only if you are sure you are not going to use the app.

-Create a new folder like you would normally do, by dragging two apps together
-Very quickly, before the folder has finished forming, drag the Newsstand app in the same folder.

If you change your mind and decide to use the Newsstand app, move it out of the folder before using it.
