As soon as tomorrow, Sunday 27th November, the jailbreaking scene could see a new jailbreaking tool for iOS devices.
Ac1dSn0w is developed by a fairly recently established group of jailbreakers that is not connected to the famous Dev Team as far as we understand.
There aren’t’ a lot of details at this stage on what this new tool is capable, or not, of doing. From what I’ve read on Twitter, their tool will allow tethered jailbreak of iOS 5 and it will not jailbreak iPhone 4S nor iPad 2, which is what the current redsn0w version is also doing. There are no details if the tool will jailbreak iOS 4 untethered and what devices will be supported.
Ac1dSn0w though will have the interesting feature to jailbreak remotely. As Chris Campbell, one of the jailbreakers member of the group revealed in a tweet, the tool can “jailbreak a device that is physically connected to a friends computer somewhere else in the world”.
This could be a very cool feature that will allow you to help people stuck with their jailbreak, no matter where they are.
Campbell mentioned in his tweet that the release was delayed till Sunday Funday which should be tomorrow.
Stay tuned and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s available.
