It looks like the non jailbreaking Apple community is freaking out about the security hole that Comex exposed with his JailbreakMe 3.0 exploit today.cydia-logo

Headlines around the Web as i’m writing are:

‘Critical weaknesses’ reported in Apple’s iPhones and iPads (The Star)

German IT agency warns of critical Apple software security hole in iPhones, iPads (The Washington Post)

Germany warns of Apple software security hole (msnbc.com)

And if you read the articles..oh my word!! They don’t explain what JailbreakMe it’s all about, they are trying to scare the hell out of any Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch user!

“A German IT security agency announced to have found a “critical weakness” in Apple’s iOS.” Hello?! Is the German IT called Comex??

According to the IT firm, the security hole could expose  iOS 4.3.3 running on any Apple portable device.” Yes thank you, that’s exactly what Comex has been working on for 10 long months.

“Clicking on an infected PDF file “is sufficient to infect the mobile device with malware without the user’s knowledge” on several versions of Apple’s iOS operating system, the Federal Office for Information Security said.” This is really  hilarious, JailbreakMe 3.0 is an infected PDF file. It’s a piece of art!!

Wait…it gets better:

“No attacks taking advantage of it have been reported so far, “but it must be expected that attackers will soon exploit the weak points,”

“The agency urges the devices’ users to refrain from opening PDF files of unknown origin, be it as an email attachment or those opening through websites.”

Oh Lord!
